Introduction about STHC

Established on September 15, 1989 on the basis of upgrading the former school of hotel and tourism, initially a training center for Saigontourist Holding Company, Saigontourist Hospitality College (STHC) was officially recognized by Ho Chi Minh City’s People Committee in a license numbered 2211/QDUB NCVX and dated May 2, 1996. In the following year, thanks to the generous support and aids from the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the school was recognized as a national tourism school in Vietnam.

Tour Guiding

Major: Tour guiding

The Tour guiding training program is mainly based on Vietnam Tourism Occupational skill that is carried out by Vietnam National Administration of Tourism with the support of the European Union. After graduating, students have to do 13 following tasks:

  1. Preparing for work,  developing a professional attitude
  2. Tasks and responsibilities as a tour conductor in general
  3. Preparing the actual tour
  4. Transport related responsibilities and procedures

Room Division Department

Our Room Division (RD) curriculum is chiefly based on VTOS (Vietnam Tourism Occupational Skills) standards for House-keeping and Front Office, which are written by Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Board with the assistance from the European Union. On completion of this training programme learners should be able to perform 16 tasks of a professional housekeeper and 10 tasks of a front desk agent.

1. DEPARTMENT OF INTERNSHIP & JOB PLACEMENT

* WORKING TIME:

7:45 AM to 8 :30 PM (From Monday to Friday)

7:45 AM to 5 PM (every Saturday)

* OBJECTIVES & DUTIES:

  • Managing and observing students’ internship and work
  • Assisting, protecting and solving students’ difficulties in their work and internship
  • Assisting students to look for an appropriate work when they are studying at school and after graduating

NOTE : Former students also get this assistance from the office

2. Aim of the internship:

The internship helps students to enter the first phase of the hospitality industry. They can apply the knowledge they study at school and gain more useful experience. Also, internship is a wonderful chance for students to improve their foreign languages, practice serving guests, observing, co-working, getting acquainted with new working conditions, making them more confident and active.
